What is an Ultrasound?

An ultrasound uses safe, high-frequency sound waves to create a picture of your baby. Ultrasounds have been performed safely in the U.S. for more than 50 years.

With an ultrasound, you’ll learn:

If you have a viable pregnancy
How far along you are
The size of your baby
And—most importantly—whether there is a heartbeat
